Check In & Out Procedure

The short-term bike share check-in and check-out procedure can be completed at the Stern Student Center Information Desk.
Long Term Bike Share check-out procedures - RESERVATION FORM OPEN AUGUST 16TH:
- Watch the bike safety video.
- Fill out the reservation form.
- Pick up your bike and equipment on the scheduled date provided to you when you complete your reservation form.
- Report any damage to the bike to sustainability@cofc.edu.
- Enjoy the roads responsibly!
- Return the bike, key, and any equipment such as lights and a helmet to the Center for Sustainable Development at 207 Calhoun Street on the agreed upon date.
Short Term Bike Share check out procedures -- THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ON PAUSE:
- Watch the bike safety video and fill out the sign-up form located here.
- Present your Cougar Card at the Stern Center information desk.
- Receive your bike lock key & bike cover (if not already on the bike) and equipment from the Stern Center employee.
- Report any damage to the bike to the Info Desk BEFORE you use it and check to be sure your lights are working.
- Enjoy the roads responsibly!
- Lock the bike up outside the Stern Center appropriately. Cover the bike with the provided bike cover to protect it from the weather.
- Return the bike, key, and all equipment (lights, helmet) to the Stern Center up to one hour before closing. You can keep a bike for up to one full day.
Other important information:
- Late fees are $25 each day the bike is late.
- You are responsible for the bike while it is in your possession; take it home, lock it up well and keep the cover on it.
- In the event the bike is stolen overnight, you will be held liable.
- You are responsible for the safe return to the Stern Student Center or the Center for Sustainable Development at 207 Calhoun Street (Semester-long) as well as the safe return of the helmet, the lock, bike lights and the bike cover.
- Be sure to report any damage BEFORE you take the bike.
- In the event of an unforeseen situation, such as the bike or lock malfunction, be sure to email sustainability@cofc.edu or otherwise notify the Center for Sustainable Development and provide us with the details of the situation and whether or not you will be able to return the bike as scheduled.
