Campus Bike Parking

The College's Bike Share Program has served as a spring board for additional bike and transportation related iniatives. A detailed campus bike parking report was recently completed during the Fall 2017 semester that looked at the current state of bike parking at the College and, with the help of a group of concerned stakeholders, identified solutions to help alleviate congested areas of campus. Check out the completed report below for the full details!

2017 Campus Bike Parking Assessment

Bike Friendly University

In coordination with the campus bike parking efforts, the College is using the League of American Bicyclists Bike Friendly University application as a tool to identify and address additional bike related issues on campus. The League has identified five elements - known as the 5 E's - that are essential for making a bicycle-friendly community:

  1. Engineering: Creating safe and convenient places to ride and park
  2. Education: Giving people of all ages and abilities the skills and confidence to ride
  3. Encouragement: Creating a strong bike culture that welcomes and celebrates bicycling
  4. Enforcement: Ensuring safe roads for all users
  5. Evaluation & Planning: Planning for bicycling as a safe and viable transportation option
