About the Program

The College of Charleston Bike Share was developed by a student-led team and first launched in Fall 2013. The program was founded on the idea that bicycling can be a safe, healthy, sustainable, and fun way to get around campus and around Charleston. Our goal is to make biking more accessible to the 10,000+ students that call Charleston home.

There are two different ways for students, faculty, and staff to rent bikes: Short-Term and Long-Term

  • Short-term bikes are e-bikes for RENT through Lime Bikes, in partnership with the City of Charleston. Lime Bikes will be available at two locations on campus; click here to learn more!
  • Long-term bikes are FREE, and are located at 207 Calhoun Street at the Center for Sustainable Development (this is our new location!). We are located behind Addlestone Library. Long-term rentals are for a full semester. To reserve a long-term bike, please fill out a reservation form (currently closed). We have limited bikes for long-term rentals, so the bikes are first-come, first-served each semester.

Everyone who reserves a long-term bike must watch the Bike Safety Video, and sign a liability form (included in each of the reservation forms). But it's fast and easy. You'll be on one of our bikes in no time!
